Happy Easter everybody! In lieu of the holiday I’m taking this Saturday off from the “Funnies” to spend some time with my family. I hope that you all do the same. Also I would like to proudly proclaim my Christian faith at this time. I’m not doing this to convert or to sway anyone. Your choice is yours alone, even Jesus said that. But for me it wasn’t a bunny that was nailed to that cross nearly 2,000 years ago.
With that said thanks for popping in and I do hope you’ll come back next Saturday where the fun and frivolity will continue to roll out from my “Toy Box”. I’d also like to take this time to point out a favorite verse of mine from the Bible that for me is the Godly mandate for toy collecting.
Luke Ch.18 verses 16 and 17:
16 Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
I take this to mean this: If you can’t simply believe, you’ll never make it. And for me these, 8-inch little pieces of plastic help me stay in touch with my inner child and remind me that the world around is nowhere near as important as we think it is. It’s only temporary at best, so lighten up. Play. Have some fun. I’ll step off the pulpit now and simply ask all of you to grab up your family and… Go Play! Jim 04/23/11
